Book Review: Boundaries For Leaders

Title: Boundaries For Leaders: Results, Relationships, and Being Ridiculously in Charge

Author: Dr. Henry Cloud

Publisher: Zondervan

Popular author and respected clinical psychologist Dr. Henry Cloud expounds on the theme of boundaries with Boundaries for Leaders, a useful but long-winded examination of how leaders can embrace being in charge of their circumstances.

The book constantly reiterates the importance of setting the tone for one’s environment—both in and out of the workplace—from a psychological standpoint of being “ridiculously in charge.” Once a person realizes that a boundary is a defining “property line” in their lives, they are able to make clear decisions and lead in a more impactful way.

The tone of this book seemed more beneficial for those in the corporate world than one of a person just getting started in their career. Given the circumstance that he has many books in the Boundaries series, it’s safe to assume that his writing is a benefit to a great amount of people. I simply missed the connection.
